School Information

School Basic Beliefs

  • We believe that every child is created to have intrinsic value as an individual regardless of family and background, to be able to develop to their full potential if opportunities are given.
  • We believe that life is created with purpose, that is, to glorify the Almighty God and to serve the others (Matthew 22:36-40). Life becomes meaningful by knowing God, by serving others, and by sharing the good news to the world.

School Vision

  • We envision developing SPKC into an outstanding DSS school with the purpose of cultivating Christian faith and educating our Pooikeinians to be leaders of tomorrow.

School Mission

  • We aim at preparing tomorrow’s leaders with character and intelligence.
  • Definition of Tomorrow’s Leaders@SPKC:
    Servant Leaders
    Positive Thinkers
    Keen Learners
    Confident Explorers
  • Four qualities we expect our graduates to be equipped through SPKC:
Christian Value, Love and Care, Globalized Vision and Life-long Learning

Our school mission is to prepare tomorrow’s leaders with character and intelligence. We believe that every student owns unique qualities and potential. When put to good use, they can become leaders in different aspects in their life, and bring their positive influence to neighbours, community and the whole wide world.

The essence of leadership is not realized only through academic performance. To set the direction for all-round development, we consolidated and conceptualized our meaning of Tomorrow’s Leader by using our school’s name – “S.P.K.C.”:

S – Servant Leaders

Being a Christian school, we believe leadership is about fulfilling our obligations to serve with humility.

We aim to nurture Pooikeinians as leaders to serve people in need, not for privilege, but the betterment of the community. Through services, we bring God’s love and grace to mankind. Students who are servant leaders must be compassionate, considerate and selfless. Empowering Pooikeinians through experience in services gives them the determination to act.

P – Positive Thinkers

As Positive thinkers, Pooikeinians believe in our agency – the capability to develop our strengths and virtues. Our students are equipped with the ability to live a positive life, develop resilience and maintain good mental and physical health. To cope with the challenging world, self-efficacy is key to our continual effort in the pursuit of different life goals. In the long run, positive thinking cultivates optimism, gratitude and happiness.

K – Keen Learners

We believe that learning is rewarding and every student is unique and talented. As keen learners, students would take the initiative to delve into their interest and be driven to make progress in this wholesome learning community. With good learning habits and attitude, students can engage in learning within and beyond classroom. In short, Pooikeinians are keen, lifelong learners with strong motivation to learn actively.

C – Confident Explorers

“Seek not to follow in the footsteps of men of old; seek what they sought.” Matsuo Basho.

Every generation marks their footsteps in history. Constant progress is sought after personal breakthroughs. In SPKC, we provide students with abundant opportunities to explore, to write a new chapter in their life. Our students are willing to take calculated risks and take a step forward confidently to meet challenges or find the answers in this ever-changing world.

School Hymn

The Stewards of the Lord

We gather here as daughters and sons,

This mission of Christ we bear:

From many hearts we unite as one

And the love of God we share;

To live as children of the light,

Let us shine before all men;

Standing fast and firm, through praise and plight

For His grace will never end.

Our hearts be cultivated with peace, joy, faith and grace,

Bearing fruit of the Spirit, so let them ripen in this place.

Living out with justice and mercy

To walk in steadfast purity,

We humbly seek Him,

We wholly serve Him,

With passion and humility.

The stewards of the Lord now we shall be,

May Pooi Kei declare his glory.
