The Learning-Without-Walls programme of SPKC aims to extend students’ perspective towards learning. It offers diverse experiential learning courses in which students must gain new ideas and stimulation outside the classroom. More than half of these programs involve visits and services outside the Hong Kong territories. The others will take place in Hong Kong but will still challenge students in several interesting areas including the appreciation of lives and indigenous heritage, the care of the socially disadvantaged groups, and the training of personal endurance in an adventurous training.
In SPKC, we believe that learning is a life-long and life-wide process which could take place everywhere in our daily lives and students would learn on their own if they could identify the challenges in something that they are interested. The LEWOWA program is therefore designed to become part of our academic curriculum with the rationale that all students must take it seriously with a learning attitude and new perspective should be gained as a result of the one-week program.
