Students Triumph in the Statistical Project Competition

In the 2024/25 Statistical Project Competition co-organized by the Hong Kong Statistical Society and Education Bureau, our students have achieved remarkable success, clinching three prestigious awards, including the First Prize for the Senior Section!

The winning team comprises of CHIU Yik Wang Edwin (5F), LEE Oi Yin  (5F), LEE Tsz Ying  (5F), KAN Tsz Kei (5L), LAM Nok Hin Henry (5L) and NG Hei Lam (5L). Their project, titled “Hong Kong’s Tourism Renaissance – Charting a Path to Global Prominence” not only impressed the judges with its insightful analysis and innovative approach to statistical presentation, but also demonstrated their analytical mindset and exceptional presentation skills during the final interviews and oral defenses.

Their outstanding performance not only secured the prestigious First Prize but also garnered accolades for the Best Graphical Presentation of Statistics and the Most Creative Project.

In the past 17 years, our school has submitted 33 statistical projects and won 42 prestigious awards. Among these accolades are 11 Champion titles and 12 Awards for the Best Graphical Presentation of Statistics. These achievements stand as a testament to our students’ prowess in research methods, statistical analysis and problem-solving.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Team for this remarkable accomplishment! The competition is not just a contest; it’s a unique tradition and invaluable learning experience for generations of Pooikeinians.
