Nurturing Well-being through Expressive Art Therapy

On 28 October 2025, our teaching staff participated in a meaningful Staff Development Day focused on nurturing their mental well-being through expressive art therapy. The relaxation workshop provided our teachers with the opportunity to explore various expressive art interventions designed to help them recognize and express their own emotions, ultimately releasing pressure.

The workshop featured
THREE engaging parallel sessions.

1. Music Therapy session
33%

In the Music Therapy session, participants immersed themselves in the healing power of music through guided activities and exercises, learning how to use music as a tool for relaxation, self-expression, and emotional regulation.

2. Body Movement session
66%

The Body Movement session encouraged our staff to reconnect with their physical selves and release tension through mindful movements. Incorporating elements of yoga, dance, and other therapeutic practices, this session utilized ribbons as props, adding a creative and expressive dimension to the experience. The use of ribbons allowed participants to explore the fluidity and grace of their movements, promoting a sense of balance, flexibility, and inner peace.

3. Artwork session
100%

In the Artwork session, our teachers were provided with a creative outlet to express their thoughts and feelings. Engaging in various art-making activities, participants were tasked with designing their own beanbags. This unique project not only tapped into their innate creativity but also encouraged them to consider the different possibilities for incorporating beanbags into their teaching practices. By exploring the potential of this versatile teaching aid, our teachers discovered new ways to engage students and create interactive learning experiences.

The Staff Development Day served as a powerful reminder of the importance of prioritizing our mental well-being, offering valuable insights into creatively integrating artistic activities into the classroom to enhance both teaching and learning. By taking the time to engage in expressive art therapies, our teachers not only nurtured their own emotional resilience but also enhanced their professional competence to create a supportive and understanding environment for the holistic growth of our students.
