SPKC S6 Farewell Assembly 2025–2026: A Light Passed On

2026-02-27

On 27 Feb 2026, the 2025–2026 S6 Farewell Assembly began with prayer led by Pastor Janice from the Abundant Grace Church, followed by the school hymn and motto recitation: “The fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One gives a wise mind” (Proverbs 9:10). S6 students stood solemnly, hearts full as they gathered one last time in the school hall.

Principal Mr. William Lee delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on triumphs from A-Levels to HKDSE preparation. Class representatives from 6F, 6G, 6H, 6J, 6L, 6P and beyond shared heartfelt memories—laughter, struggles, and bonds that lit up the room. Smiles and tears flowed as stories evoked shared joys. S4–S5 students watched attentively, inspired for their own futures.

The emotional peak arrived with the Passing of the Light Ceremony. Principal Lee explained its significance: “The light of SPKC, truth, values, wisdom, passes through you to illuminate the world, as ‘children of the light’ (school hymn).” Representatives Ethan Chung, Emily Kan, Hazel Lee, and Samuel Lam received the flame, then passed it to all graduates amid tears. They pledged: “I solemnly declare… to walk in the light, glorify God, and benefit people.” The assembly sang the song “Pass It On,” extinguishing candles as a promise to shine beyond SPKC.

Next, the Time Capsule Ceremony sealed personal packets of dreams and memories, presented by the representatives. Principal Lee sealed the capsule, promising reunion in 2031. As tokens, he gifted “Garlic Packs” with keycap fidgets, tissues, and teacher-written encouragement cards, which symbolizes vitality. Photos captured the bittersweet hugs.

Teachers concluded the ceremony with two songs—a heartfelt gift that moved everyone to tears. Reverend Au offered benediction, ending the assembly. S6 students embraced the ceremony seriously, while younger peers engaged deeply, anticipating their turn.
