SPKC Honored with Best Participation School Award at UNICEF HK Ceremony
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, our school community was filled with immense pride as SPKC representatives attended the UNICEF HK School & Youth Programmes Acknowledgement Ceremony, held under the inspiring theme “#Becoming the Changemakers” at Chamson Chau Hall in Wan Chai. We are thrilled to share that Stewards Pooi Kei College was awarded the prestigious Best Participation School Award in the UNICEF HK SDGs Student Ambassadors eLearn Pilot Scheme! A total of 87 Pooikeinians were recognized for their dedication to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Gold Certificate & Most Active Contribution Award: Wang Lok Yin Jayden (2H)
Silver Certificates: 18 Awardees
Bronze Certificates: 68 Awardees
Most Active Contribution Award (Top 10 students who accomplished the most actions).
Pooi Kei Family Warmth on Stage
On the day of the ceremony, Ms. Sy stepped onto the stage on behalf of SPKC to receive the school trophy and certificates for all our student awardees. Following the honors, student delegates Tam Sum (2H) and Cheung Kai Ting (2G) articulately showcased their SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) projects:
- Energy Detective: Tak Tin Green Footsteps (Tam Sum, 2H): Uses piezoelectric technology to turn footsteps into LED lighting for a safer, eco-friendly neighborhood.
- Solar-Powered Model Car Championship (Cheung Kai Ting, 2G & Leung Hau Him, 2P): A hands-on initiative that motivated 50 schoolmates to construct model solar cars using recycled materials.
Watching our Pooikeinians speak with such confidence—supported by the encouraging presence of their parents and Ms. Sy—was a true highlight of the day. Their project display panels also drew enthusiastic praise from guest speakers and fellow educators throughout the event.
