SPKC Book Week 2026

2026-05-05

This year’s Book Week transformed our school into a vibrant hub of discovery, centering on the fascinating world of insects, reptiles, and amphibians. Co-organized by the Departments of English, Integrated Science, and Biology, alongside the Library and the Career & Life Planning Education Committees, the event aimed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of these often-misunderstood creatures.

The festivities kicked off with an energetic Book Hunting Game, where students decoded clues hidden among the library shelves.  Simultaneously, the English Book Fair showcased a diverse collection of nature-themed literature, ranging from vivid picture books to comprehensive children’s encyclopedias.

Students later put their trivia to the test during the “Wild Wonders: Animal Facts and Fakes” session. For those seeking a more hands-on experience, a live showcase allowed brave participants to get up close and personal with geckos, offering a rare look at their unique habitats and survival strategies.

The week culminated in an inspiring assembly led by ecological educator Mr. Ken Lee. His moving presentation emphasized the vital importance of biodiversity, the urgency of conservation, and the necessity of treating all living creatures with respect.
