M.I.T. Innovation Node Easter BootCamp

Nine members from Stewards Pooi Kei College Rotary Club attended the “Sports & Wellness Challenge 2024 Easter Boot Camp” organized by M.I.T. Innovation Node from 1-3 and 5 April, 2024.

The four full-day programs provided hardware and software technical support, design thinking, and project consultation for our members’ ongoing project with the Children’s Kidney Fund and the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. One of the program instructors is our alumnus, Nick Tsang, who graduated in 2012 (seen on the far left).

The members were engaged in a discussion about selecting the most suitable equipment to support their ongoing project. Their project focused on addressing the physical and leisure needs of teenage kidney patients and their families.

On the final day, two groups of our members presented their ideas to the audience and received valuable feedback from industry professionals.

The members were grateful for the school’s sponsorship that allowed them to attend the inspiring training at the M.I.T. Innovation Node.

Ultimately, it is hoped that the project will bring many benefits and fun to the patients who will visit our school on 13 April , 2024.

They plan to share what they have learned, their products, and the feedback from the patients in future assemblies, which could inspire other Pooikienians to become devoted and inspirational servant leaders in community service.
