Rhythm of Seoul: K-Pop Star Quest

The “Rhythm of Seoul: A K-Pop Star Quest” was a music-focused LEWOWA programme that offered students the unique opportunity to experience the life of a K-Pop idol trainee. Over a busy 6-day learning tour, students participated in singing, dancing, audio recording, makeup & styling, and Korean language classes. Preparation for the tour began in early April, with students working in groups and attending three progress checkpoints before embarking on this immersive journey. By Day 5, students were fully prepared for their music video shoot, performing like real K-Pop idols, singing and dancing on stage.

One of the highlights of the trip was the dance class at the internationally renowned 1Million Dance Studio, a hub for K-Pop dance enthusiasts from around the globe. Students had the privilege of attending a private dance session with Teacher Debby, a celebrated Taiwanese choreographer at the studio. This once-in-a-lifetime experience brought immense joy and excitement to the students as they learned from one of the best in the industry.

Another unforgettable experience was attending a traditional Korean Gugak concert on Day 5. For many students, this was their first time experiencing traditional Korean music in such an authentic setting. Upon entering the music hall, they removed their shoes as a sign of respect, immersing themselves in the cultural atmosphere. The musicians, dressed in traditional Korean attire, performed with instruments that were entirely new to the students. The concert was a truly eye-opening experience, offering a glimpse into the richness of Korean heritage.

Beyond the artistic and cultural experiences, the programme also fostered friendship and team spirit among students from different grades and groups. Working closely in teams to prepare for the music video shoot, students developed strong bonds as they supported and motivated one another under the guidance of their team leaders. It was inspiring to witness their efficiency and collaboration throughout the process.

This extraordinary learning tour not only provided students with a chance to step into the shoes of a K-Pop idol trainee but also promoted their personal growth, leaving them with unforgettable memories and a life-changing experience.
