Fun Reading Day 2026: A Celebration of Words and Wisdom

2026-07-16

To promote extensive reading and cultivate an interest in writing among students, our school arranged for students to take part in “Fun Reading Day 2026.” The event was jointly organised by The Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ & Exporters’ Association, the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, and the Concentric Education Foundation (Hong Kong). Participating students visited the Hong Kong Book Fair and attended author talks, gaining valuable insights into reading and writing.

This year’s Fun Reading Day 2026 was truly unforgettable. Students, teachers and distinguished guests gathered at the Hong Kong Book Fair to share the joy of reading. The event was not merely about turning pages; it was about opening minds.

We are especially proud of 2F student TANG Yi Heng, one of only five recipients of the prestigious Outstanding Essay Award. (Right 4).

The day began with an inspiring address by Dr Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education. This was followed by an insightful sharing session by Mr Louis Ng Chi-wa, Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, who spoke passionately on “Cuju (蹴鞠) and Football Culture: Past and Present.”

It was a meaningful and rewarding experience for every participant—one that nurtures not only literacy, but also a lifelong love of learning.
