Sharing Our Vision: LEWOWA Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders

On 12 June 2025, our school was honored to be invited by the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau to share our experiences with other secondary schools regarding our signature school-based experiential learning curriculum—the Learning Without Walls (LEWOWA) Programmes. The sharing session, titled “Whole-school Curriculum Planning: Adapting to Change, Shaping 21st Century Students’ Personal Growth,” served as a meaningful platform to showcase how LEWOWA has transformed Pooikeinians into Christian leaders with a globalized vision through life-changing experiences since the school’s establishment.

Our Principal, Mr William Lee, began by sharing LEWOWA’s vision and mission, emphasizing its role in preparing students to be leaders of tomorrow while upholding the school’s Christian values. He underscored how the programme challenges students to push their limits through its unique experimental learning activities, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and values to thrive in this ever-evolving world.

The Vice Principal, Mr. Jimmy Tse, traced LEWOWA’s developmental journey, explaining how its evolution aligns with students’ learning needs and the school’s ethos.

The Head of Global Education and LEWOWA Committee, Mr. Simon Leung, then introduced the diverse range of both local and outbound programmes on offer under the categories of Servant Leaders, Explorers, Adventurers, Life Planners and Scholars (S.E.A.L.S.). He explained the structured enquiry-based approach of the programme with examples of engaging activities, highlighting the three key learning stages (P.O.P.).

Finally, the Panel Head of Chinese History, Ms. Joyce Ng, shared her insights on integrating the Chinese History curriculum into experiential learning through LEWOWA.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for professional exchange of effective curriculum designs and pedagogical practices, while reaffirming our commitment to nurturing Pooikeinians into servant leaders with character and intelligence ready to make a positive impact on the world. We extend our gratitude to the Education Bureau for this meaningful opportunity.
