Stewards Pooi Kei College Fencing Team Wins Championship on Debut

The fencing team was officially established this year, with regular training sessions held every Thursday. As the school enters its fourth year of participation in inter-school fencing competitions, we are proud to carry forward the team’s spirit of dedication and perseverance.

We are especially grateful to alumna Evelyn, who served as assistant coach and encouraged the team to take part in the Sha Tin Festival · All Hong Kong Inter-School Team Fencing Invitational Tournament. On their very first appearance, Stewards Pooi Kei College emerged as champions.

Sincere thanks also go to the coach for professionally arranging the order of bouts and providing thoughtful individual guidance throughout the competition. By helping the fencers understand both their own strengths and those of their opponents, the coach enabled every member to perform at their best.

The boys’ team also gave their all and gained invaluable experience from the competition.

Throughout the event, every member supported and encouraged one another. Not a single negative or discouraging word was heard. With an atmosphere of mutual respect and teamwork like this, the fencers had already proven themselves a remarkable team even before winning the championship. Now that they have claimed the title, we hope they will continue to stay humble and lift one another up.
