A Charity Event — Hats We Wear, Care We Share!

2024-11-11

This year, our students participated in the charity event “Hats We Wear, Care We Share!” organized by the Children’s Cancer Foundation. The foundation has been providing caring services for families of young children with cancer for over 30 years. The event aimed to raise public awareness and support for young cancer patients and their families. It also offered our students an opportunity to show love and care for those in need, while developing values of empathy, benevolence, and respect for others.

The Values Education Committee arranged a weekly assembly session and invited one of our teachers, Mr. Sam Ho, who has successfully battled cancer. Praise the Lord! His touching story and encouragement inspired many students to care for cancer patients.

In this event, students were asked to choose any 2-hour period on 2 November 2024 to wear a hat as a gesture of solidarity with children battling cancer. They engaged in their usual Saturday activities while wearing a hat during this time and took a photo of themselves with it. Then, they wrote an encouraging sentence for the young cancer patients as the photo caption. The video features all the photos and captions as blessings from our students to the patients. Thanks to our parents who supported the event and made a total donation of HK$78,050 to the Children’s Cancer Foundation. May God bless the patients and their families!
