STEAM Week

2025-11-10

The STEAM Week was successfully held from 10 to 14 November 2025, bringing together students and teachers to inspire curiosity and innovation in the ever-evolving fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. A diverse array of activities were organized to engage all students and foster a love for these disciplines.

Throughout the week, students participated in engaging presentations and exciting challenges that sparked their imaginations and encouraged collaboration. Each day focused on a different aspect of STEAM:

Monday: Physics Day – Air Cannon Competition
Students kicked off the week with thrilling experiments in physics, designing and building their own air cannons. The competition encouraged creativity and teamwork as they tested their designs against each other, learning about principles of force and motion along the way.

Tuesday: Chemistry Day – Explore the World of Frozen (Liquid Nitrogen)
On Chemistry Day, students delved into the fascinating world of chemistry with hands-on demonstrations using liquid nitrogen. They witnessed breathtaking experiments, including the rapid freezing of various objects and the creation of instant ice cream, igniting a sense of wonder about chemical reactions.

Wednesday: Biology Day – Body Balance and Reaction Challenge
Biology Day featured interactive challenges focused on human physiology and biology. Students participated in a Body Balance competition and tested their reflexes in a Reaction Challenge, learning about the science behind their bodies’ functions and responses.

Thursday: ICT Day – ICT Knowledge Competition
On ICT Day, students put their technical skills to the test in an ICT Knowledge Competition. They engaged in coding challenges and cybersecurity quizzes, gaining valuable insights into the digital world and the importance of technology in today’s society.

Friday: Sport Science Day – Science and Sports
The week culminated in Sport Science Day, where students explored the intersection of athletics and science. They conducted experiments to measure speed, agility, and endurance, learning about the biomechanics behind their favorite sports.

In addition to these daily themes, several exciting events were scheduled throughout the week:

SPKC Science Rumors Hunters (Treasure Hunt): Students participated in a fun and educational treasure hunt, where they solved science-related clues and explored the school grounds.

STEAM Video Appreciation: A selection of inspiring videos showcased innovations in STEAM fields, allowing students to learn about real-world applications and breakthroughs.

Science Book Exhibition and Book Fair: Students had the chance to explore an array of science literature, deepening their understanding and love for reading in the STEAM domain.

Interactive CSI Show: This captivating show introduced students to forensic science, allowing them to unravel a mystery using investigative techniques.

Sharing from the SERA Team: The SERA Team shared their project work and their achievement in the previous academic year.

The week proved to be a resounding success, igniting enthusiasm for STEAM among students and motivating them to explore their passions further. The collaborative spirit fostered during this event not only reinforced classroom learning but also built a vibrant community of learners and teachers.

Looking ahead, we are excited to expand our STEAM initiatives and enhance next year’s events, aiming to inspire even more students to engage with science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in meaningful ways!
