We Pooikeian the HK Champion In Debating!

Pooikeians are on SCMP today (please refer to the following links),because our English debate teams made history yesterday (27th June, 2013).
The name of our school will definitely be written in the history of Hong Kong schools’ debating as we were the only school that both Junior and Senior teams have made the final of the 14th NESTA/ SCMP Hong Kong Schools’ English Debating Championship!
The competition was held at Amenities Building, City University of Hong Kong.
The motion of debate was Young people in Hong Kong are growing up in a society which encourages negative attitudes towards people from the mainland.
Here is the name list of our English Debate Teams:
Senior Team Junior Team
First Speaker Natalie Cheung (5L) Saturnia Hung (3P)
Second Speaker Isaac Sham (5P) Michelle Lo (3F)
Third Speaker Sarah Tse (4L)* Sherry Au (3P)
Our Principal, Mr. Peter Yuen (left), came to support the teams!
Results:
  • The Senior Debate Team won the Championship of Division 1A (Senior Division).
  • The Junior Debate Team got the First Runner-up of Division 2A (Junior Division).
  • *Sarah Tse (4L) also won the Best Speaker Award with her fiery rebuttals and impassionate speech.
