The summer of 2012 is going to be a tipping point of the global warming. If we do not start making some changes in our lives to stop worsen the situation of global warming, climate change is going to be sudden, drastic and irreversible.
What can we do to help the environment? Besides switching off unused electrical appliances and recycling, the president of IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change) urges us to stop eating meat to save our earth.
Greenhouse gases like methane and nitrous oxide are mainly produced from the livestock. The global warming effect of methane is 72 times more serious than carbon dioxide. To cool down the planet quickly, we need to reduce the number of livestock and hence the emission of methane will be reduced subsequently.
Scientists are now advocating vegetarian and vegan lifestyles which is not only good for our health, but also the planet’s.
