A New Era of Learning: The Return of LEWOWA

2024-07-02

LEWOWA 2023/2024 was successfully held from 25 June to 2 July 2024 with a total of 31 local and outbound experiential learning programmes to develop Pooikeinians into globalised Christian leaders through life-changing experiences. This was the first time since COVID-19 that LEWOWA had been fully re-launched!

New programmes were organised, including 3D animation and ice hockey. Students in local programmes star gazed and learned how to perform a Shakespeare play. Outbound programmes provided valuable opportunities for students to fly to Singapore and Malaysia to experience university life, or to gallop to Germany to experience local life as a European. Students were also able to fly as part of the LEWOWA MATHSKY: Australia programme. In Vancouver, students discovered why Vancouver is one of the top 5 most liveable cities in the world. Students explored the city and learned about urban planning, while also exploring some of the natural wonders surrounding the city, such as the national parks and forests.

To share the positive LEWOWA experience with Pooikeinians, a lively exhibition day and energetic variety show was held. With the help of informative boards and interactive mini-games, the students presented the key learning outcomes of their programmes and Pooikeinians were able to learn from each other through positive communication and personal experiences. The exhibition day symbolised the celebration and recognition of the students’ success at LEWOWA in an enlightening learning atmosphere.
