2025/26 S.2 Hostel Experience Programme
2025-11-15
SPKC places great emphasis on students’ all–round development and is committed to providing students with a diverse range of experiential learning opportunities.
The S.2 Hostel Experience Programme was an initiative since 2022/23 to enhance students’ self-management, social, and problem-solving skills while promoting simplicity in life. It gives students a valuable opportunity to develop independence, teamwork, critical thinking, and an appreciation for a simpler lifestyle. The 2025/26 marks the fourth consecutive year that the school has organised the programme as a part of the school curriculum in collaboration with our educational partner, Stewards High Rock Centre.

During the programme, students will be engaged in various activities to achieve the following objectives:
1. Simple Living
- Providing opportunities for students to enjoy life with minimal reliance on electronic gadgets and material possessions.
2. Social Skills
- Improving students’ ability to engage in respectful and meaningful interactions and communications with others.
3. Self-management Skills
- Enhancing students’ ability to regulate their behaviors, thoughts, and emotions in a productive manner.
4. Problem-solving Skills
- Developing students’ ability to identify problems, brainstorm and evaluate potential solutions, and implement the most effective ones.

This year, the programme further emphasise Gospel work and whole-person development. We aim to nurture our S.2 students into tomorrow’s leaders by organizing activities that promote qualities of Servant Leader, Positive Thinker, Keen Learner, and Confident Explorer, all while upholding Christian Values and fostering Love & Care.

During the first day of the Programme, a few S.3 and S.5 students volunteered to prepare dinner for their younger brothers and sisters. This encourages them to carry on serving others as they become a servant leader.
