Career EXPO 2019

2019-03-04

Career EXPO 2019, one of the most anticipated events organized by Careers and Life Planning Education Team, has just come to an end. Since the theme is ‘Explore the Business World’ this year, we have BAFS and Economics Departments as our co-organizers. This thematic week aims to enhance students’ motivation in understanding their own interests, strengths and aspirations, as well as to develop their various abilities and skills for further career exploration. Participants are expected to identify their personality traits based on the Holland’s Code about career interests. To strengthen students’ awareness, we have a series of interactive and meaningful activities throughout the week.

The highlight of the week, Game Stalls at Red Brick Area and Zone D were successfully held. Featuring the Holland Codes about personality traits and career interests, six game booths were crowded with many students. For prize redemption, students are required to get stamps for all the six booths about Holland’s codes, i.e. Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional type. Apart from the crowded game booths, the students from JA company were very active in selling their own products for both teachers and students.
In the booth about “Realistic Type”, students were required to arrange the blocks according to the given requirements.
In the booth about “Enterprising Type”, students dressed up to be models for photo taking.
In the booth about “Artistic Type”, Ms. Karis Kam and Mr. David Leung constructed “LEGO Ducks” to present their own personality traits.
All the game booths were crowded with many Pooikeinians.
After getting enough stamps for their “Career Passport”, students were excited to redeem the prizes.
Students from JA Company were presenting their own products to Mr. William Lee and Ms. Miranda Tang.
With the whole-school participation, all Pooikeinians have a better understanding about their personality traits and career interests. We also have further inspirations about the business world as well as the essential abilities needed for the future workplace. Let’s look forward to the next amazing Career EXPO in 2020!
