Quality Christian education

Our moral education is based on the principles stated in the Holy Bible. Members of our teaching staff have strong team spirit. They wholeheartedly agree with our school mission and aim to provide Christianized spiritual and moral education with a professional attitude, as well as Christian love and faith. We believe that it is of vital importance to let our students experience a healthy spiritual and physical growth, which is conducive to nurturing their good conduct and increasing their strength of character.

An outstanding English Curriculum

Our school aims at raising students' English competence to meet international standards. To achieve this aim, all subjects except Chinese Language, Chinese History, Putonghua, Persoanl-Social-Spiritual Education and Physical Education are taught in English. Through implementing a professionally structured English curriculum and adopting innovative methodologies in a uniquely designed English learning environment, we hope to inspire in our students great enthusiasm to learn and use English. The special features of our English curriculum include:

  • “Student-oriented” teaching and learning strategies to promote students' interest in learning English

  •
“Authentic materials” to increase students' exposure to and knowledge of English and Western culture

  •
A highly organized and systematic English curriculum to strengthen students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills

  •
Sound teaching approaches, advanced IT equipment and creative teaching aids to enhance students' skills in mastering grammar rules

  •
Lively and daily-life based English learning opportunities to better students' communicative strategies

Network between our School and the community

Allied with Shatin Alliance, Stewards Social Services and other overseas organizations like Breakthrough as our collaborative partners, we bring into our school extensive social resources and experience. With strong social support, we encourage effective discipline and counseling, in a caring and loving Christian community. We believe that this greatly benefits our students and parents alike.

    Widening our students' international scope

  • Developing excellence in project-based learning: We will arrange students to observe a variety of quality projects overseas or on the Mainland so as to widen their global vision.

  •
Understanding World Needs: We will encourage our students to participate in voluntary work outside Hong Kong to serve the poor in order to let them treasure what they have and develop a sense of empathy with the situation of others who are less fortunate.

  •
Creating awareness of international issue: We have included in our curriculum various activities that enable our students to understand what incidents (e.g. Anti-smoking Day, World Aids Day, World Book & Copyright Day, etc.,) concern the people in the world.

  •
Organising student exchange: To actualize our school as a mini-international society, we hope to organize host families to provide accommodation for the foreign exchange students and develop meaningful activities.

Creative curriculum in accordance with education reforms

  • The integration of interesting teaching conducted by our Native English Teachers and international exchange programs creates a quality and authentic English learning environment, which contributes an effective and enjoyable learning process.

  •
To align with curriculum reforms, our school, has adpoted the principle of incorporating learning into daily life and enhancing students' interests, enabling appropriate subject re-adjustments. For instance, our Music and Arts curriculum shifts from traditional didactic teaching to performance and exhibition-oriented direction, such that our students' talents can be fully developed. Our newly designed Integrated Humanities course can help students develop a sense of responsibility towards Hong Kong, extend their patriotic feeling towards China, and develop a better understanding of the world. In addition, our PSSE course embraces the elements of moral building, emotional quotient training and spiritual education, which will mould students to develop energetic attitudes towards life. Through the curriculum reforms mentioned above, our students will be well equipped to become the leaders of the 21 st century.

  •
To keep pace with the advocacy of multiple intelligences education, our school will leave more space for students' self-learning. We are going to arrange a variety of activities for our students after school and we also encourage junior form students to finish their homework in school. We believe such polices will give students more time and space to establish quality family life, which our school believes to be very important.

A cyber campus with sophisticated facilities

  • A millennium campus with cyber design: Several information centers will be established in our school so that our students can conveniently get hold of important information. At the same time, these information centres can also be used for fee paying, classroom booking and activity enrolling. Our school is also planning to install Cable or Satellite TV in order for our students to appreciate quality TV programs from different parts of the world.

  •
Students Performance Center : Concerts, literary appreciation and academic sharing sections will be held regularly to let students share their achievements in various domains.

Providing all-round education and activating non-academic potential

To execute the education policy of promoting diversified development, and to enable our students to enjoy a more fruitful life, our school will recruit professionals from various disciplines to help develop students' creative talents in non-academic domains like music, dance, drama, art, speech and sports.

Convergence of elite teachers and curriculum experts

The Direct Subsidy Scheme allows us more flexibility in staff recruitment and delegation.
